The criminal justice system, made up of police, corrections, and the courts, enforces laws, analyzes criminal activity, and incarcerates and rehabilitates people who have been convicted of crimes.  According to Forbes Advisor, as society grows and evolves, the criminal justice system and its functions need to keep up – and that’s the basis of this ranking.

“Albertus is singled out for numerous reasons, one being the flexibility of the online degree program.  Another  differentiator is that our students complete a mandatory research project and thesis capstone which highlights our emphasis on experiential learning,” said Dr. Rosa Rivera-Hainaj, Albertus Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty.  “Our graduates obtain the critical thinking skills needed to deal with complex and ever-changing issues.”

“Our graduates demonstrate how important it is to be a life-long learner,” said Dr. John Lawrie, who is the Director of Albertus’ Criminal Justice programs.  “Our program alumni are working professionals and appreciate the emphasis on a values-based approach to learning and to improving the system.  Plus, they are learning from faculty who have real-life experience in the industry which, that alone, is a teacher that’s second to none.”

Forbes Advisor scored 54 accredited, nonprofit colleges offering online Master’s in Criminal Justice degree programs in the US using 16 data points in categories of credibility, affordability, student outcomes, student experience, and application process.

This is the second major accolade bestowed upon the College in the past month.  Earlier, Money named Albertus one of its Best Colleges in America.
