Albertus Magnus College Again Named to Money’s Best Colleges in America List

Albertus Scores High for Quality of Education, Affordability, and Future Outcomes

Class of 2023 Commencement Ceremony New Haven, Conn., July 10, 2023 Albertus Magnus College once again makes the grade when it comes to assessing the  value of a four-year college education. Albertus was recently named to Money Magazine’s Best Colleges In America list for 2023, an innovative new analysis that focuses on graduation rates, tuition, financial aid, and alumni salaries.

Instead of ranking colleges numerically, Money reformulated its methodology, in which it assigned colleges a “star  rating” of up to five stars. Money started with more than 2,400 four-year public and private non-profit colleges, then  using factors such as 500 or more undergraduate students and minimum threshold graduation rates to narrow its list to  include only 736 rated institutions. For students and their families embarking upon the college search process, the  rankings reveal a group of colleges, according to Money’s website, where “your tuition (and time) are likely to pay off.”  Money’s rating criteria focused in on three key categories: quality of education; affordability, and outcomes – including  alumni earnings.

“I applaud Money’s new approach to assessing the value of a college education, emphasizing metrics that matter most  to students and families,” said Albertus Magnus President Dr. Marc M. Camille. “The continued inclusion of Albertus in  the list is a testament to the quality and value of an Albertus Magnus College degree, and it builds on previous analyses  that reveal immediate and long-term career success for Albertus alumni. As New England’s most racially and ethnically  diverse Catholic college, just two years out from our 100th Anniversary Year, Albertus continues to appeal to a growing  group of students who are choosing our time-tested liberal arts- and values-based education.”

Money’s new approach to college rankings follows the publication earlier this year of the New York Times Build Your Own College Rankings, in which Albertus also scored well. Albertus was one of only 883 institutions included from more  than 4,000 nationwide, based on minimum enrollment size and graduation rate thresholds. In the Times analyses, when  upward economic mobility is prioritized, Albertus is first among the 88 New England colleges and universities that were  ranked. When multiple factors such as Academics, Athletics, Economic Diversity, Economic Mobility, High Earnings, and  Racial Diversity are prioritized, Albertus Magnus College rates #3 in New England and in the top 6% nationally.
