Meet the Communications & Marketing Team
Andrea Kovacs
Vice President for Marketing & Community Relations
Andrea is charged with developing and implementing a comprehensive communication and
marketing strategy that enhances the College’s public image; strengthens the Albertus
brand; and supports strategic initiatives. Prior to Albertus, Andrea directed the
Annual Fund at Fairfield University and she was Senior Vice President for Marketing
and Community Relations for United Way of Eastern Fairfield County. She earned her
BS in Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) and her MA in Leadership
from Albertus Magnus College. Fun fact: Andrea lived a previous life in the fashion
industry.
Jessica De Young
Director, Marketing and Web Strategy
Jessica is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and
digital communication strategies. She oversees all aspects of strategic marketing
and web operations - sharing information with students, prospective students, staff,
and faculty. Jessica brings two decades of digital marketing, brand, and web experience
to the College and most recently led her own thriving firm. She earned her BA in Journalism
from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her MBA from Southern New Hampshire
University. Fun fact: Jessica received a grant from TikTok to bring youth mental health
first aid training to her community.
Sarah Barr
Media Communications Specialist
Sarah is the point person for media inquiries and external promotion of Albertus
Magnus College. A journalist by trade, Sarah is a four-time News Emmy nominee who
served two Mayors as the Director of Communications and New Media for the City of
Hartford. She is now also the CEO and Founder of her own writing and communications
company, Washashore Writing and an emerging screenwriter. Sarah earned her BA in Broadcast
Journalism with a minor in politics and history from Temple University. Fun fact:
Sarah started her career as a ballet dancer.
Daniel Borkowski
Junior Web Developer
Daniel is responsible for communicating all of the College’s information via the
website quickly and accurately for the Albertus Community and prospective students.
Prior to this, Daniel worked at the IT Help Desk at Southern Connecticut State University,
of which he is a graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with
a minor in marketing. Fun fact: Daniel enjoys sports editing and videography.
Ben Dubar-Conroy
Web Developer
Ben manages the institution’s digital presence and operations through the use of
web solutions. Ben started his career at Albertus Magnus College, initially working
in the academic library, then transitioned into the role of web developer. He then
took a Web Content Developer position at Unity Environment University, focusing on
developing and maintaining web content before returning to his alma mater in which
he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies. Fun Fact: Ben spends time practicing
Aikido and likes sketching with pencil and ink.
Hannah Hayes
Strategic Communications Manager
Hannah is a brand strategist specializing in multimedia campaigns that increase
student engagement and achieve institutional goals. With extensive experience in creative
direction and writing, Hannah brings perspective of her work with television networks
and digital publications. Hannah earned a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications
from Albertus Magnus College and is pursuing her master’s degree in Business Administration.
Fun fact: Hannah was featured in Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce.
Stephanie Kanaan
Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Marketing and Community Relations
Stephanie provides executive support and oversees and manages all office procedures
and other tasks as assigned by the Vice President for Marketing and Community Relations.
Prior to joining Albertus, Stephanie worked in Public Relations supporting technology
clients such as IBM, Blackberry, and Carbonite. Stephanie earned her Bachelor’s Degree
in English Literature from the University of Connecticut. Fun Fact: Stephanie loves
to bake and enjoys tap dancing.
Erin Molkenthin
Internal and Visual Communications Coordinator
Erin handles internal email communications at Albertus in order to keep the college
community informed and connected. She also works on various design projects, and photographs
key events on campus. Prior to joining the team as the Internal and Visual Communications
Coordinator, Erin was a student worker and intern for the department. Erin earned
her Bachelor’s Degree from Albertus in Art, specializing in Graphic Design, with minors
in Photography, Studio Art, and Psychology. Fun Fact: Erin loves to knit and crochet.
Sam Tyrrel
Digital Content Producer
Sam leads Albertus’ footprint across all digital media platforms. Prior to joining
Albertus, she worked with the American Red Cross coordinating volunteers to Florida
following Hurricane Ian and shared stories and testimonials via social media; she
also ran the social media and created graphics for Youth Entrepreneurs. Sam earned
her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing at Southern Connecticut State University. Fun fact:
In her free time, Sam enjoys spending time with her horse, Blaze.
