Albertus Magnus College Holds Virtual Open House October 24

Using Technology to Attract Students

Albertus Magnus College is using technology to connect with future Fearless Falcons.  A Virtual Open House for  Undergraduate Students will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 10 a.m.  Please log on to  albertus.edu/openhouse to register.

Bucking the national trend, in the past two consecutive years, Albertus has welcomed both its largest and second largest classes in its 95-year history.  According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center overall undergraduate enrollment has declined by four-percent and financial concerns regarding the global pandemic saw most first-year enrollments drop by 15-percent.  However, the Albertus story is different.

“The increasing demand for an Albertus education is reflected in the diversity and quality of our growing student body.  Our values-based liberal arts education is both practical and expansive.  It prepares Albertus graduates for a lifetime of professional success and personal civic engagement,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing Andrea Kovacs.

Albertus has received high praise as a top US college by three prestigious national organizations:  the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education 2021 College Rankings, US News & World Report’s 2021 college rankings, and Money’s 2020 Best Colleges in America.  These rankings are designed to provide students and their families with essential information to help them make more informed college choice decisions, especially in these unprecedented times.

As a leader in delivering innovative educational programming, Albertus moved quickly into virtual programming for incoming and existing students.

“We pioneered the idea of blended courses that combine both online and in-person learning more than 25 years ago and we put that knowledge to work,” said Kovacs.

In addition to its undergraduate and graduate open houses, Albertus has offered virtual events for Experiential Learning Week, Accepted Students Day, the annual “Take Back the Night” event, Convocation, Constitution Day, and most recently Founders’ Week, celebrating the College’s 95th Anniversary.
