Albertus Earns CASE Best in District Award for Leadership DEI Initiatives
Strategic Marketing Campaign Honored as College Strives for Federal Hispanic Serving Institution Recognition
New Haven, Conn., October 24, 2022 – Albertus Magnus College is delighted to announce it has once again been recognized
with a Best of CASE District 1 Award. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education
(CASE) is a global non-profit, dedicated to those who champion education to transform
lives and society. This year, Albertus was named Best of District 1 in the Leadership:
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives category for its tactical efforts to
become a Federal Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). To date, the College’s student
body is 24-percent; the benchmark for an HSI is 25-percent for at least two consecutive
years.
The entry was chosen from a competitive field for its creative, innovative, and inspirational
idea. A special congratulations to members of the Communications and Marketing and
Admissions teams: Director of Marketing and Creative Services Marisa Dragone; Media
Communications Specialist Sarah Barr; Communications Manager Robert DiGioia ’26; Digital
Content Producer Samantha Miller ’16; Coordinator of International Admissions Sr.
Ana Gonzalez, O.P., and Leilim Chang- Salazar ’20 for this ongoing campaign.
“Albertus is proud of its diverse campus community and that pride is reflected in
our outreach. The Falcon Family celebrates different cultures and this award honors
our joy of storytelling at churches, schools, and events as well as on a wide variety
of media platforms,” said Albertus Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing
Andrea Kovacs.
Albertus’ Communications and Marketing team continues to attract accolades. In November
2021, the College earned a Gold Mercury Award from the Public Relations Society of
America, Greater Connecticut Chapter (PRSA-CT), for this same entry. This is the College’s
third CASE award.
