I began teaching after a career in "corporate America" led me to get a Ph.D. and pursue a desire to produce more effective and progressive managers. Infusing classroom work with experiential work exercises for students, increasing their ability to discuss work-related undiscussables and teaching them how to manage workforce diversity are three of my methods. I am convinced that when employees begin their first day of work at their professional jobs that the vast majority, if not all, are eager to perform at the highest level. Somehow our organizational environments too often yield an employee who has lost that eagerness, ambition and dulled their performance results. It is my belief that skilled managers can have a lot to do in enabling employees to fulfill their vocational and even avocational aspirations. Helping students to believe this and to do this is one of my passions.
