Variety of Experiences Reaffirms Elm City’s Status at a Top Destination
Dubbed the "Cultural Capital of Connecticut," the city of New Haven (www.INFOnewhaven.com) is offering a full lineup of summer events that will keep visitors and locals alike coming back for more throughout the season. The programming will appeal to a diverse set of interests as it features events ranging from culinary, entertainment, fashion, sports, theatre and music.

In addition to New Haven's summer events, visitors can explore the Elm City’s coastline along New Haven Harbor on the Long Island Sound. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of the season’s incredible weather and find their own adventures as they explore New Haven's numerous parks, including Edgerton Park, Lighthouse Point, Edgewood and East Rock. For nature lovers, the West Rock Nature Center offers 300 different plant species to discover along interpretive trails and just a seven-minute drive from downtown New Haven, Lake Wintergreen is a beautiful setting for kayakers of all skill levels.
Travelers in need of retail therapy can explore one of the region’s most extensive and walkable shopping districts including the historic Chapel Street boutiques including Wave gallery, idiom and Arethusa Farm Dairy. In addition to being within walking distance from the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, Whitney-Audubon Retail & Arts District offers an extensive list of antiques and home furnishing stores.
For the cultural enthusiast, New Haven offers a wide variety of museums and attractions such as the Yale University Art Gallery, the Yale Center for British Art and Knights of Columbus Museum, among others.
