Men's Basketball Teams Wins GNAC Title; Enters NCAA Play

MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM WINS FIRST GNAC TITLE
The Albertus men's basketball team defeated Emerson College 85-69 Saturday afternoon, February 27, to capture the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship.  With the win, the Falcons get their first Division III NCAA automatic tournament berth.  During regular season play, Albertus was 22-6, and 18-3 in GNAC play.

Junior guard Walden St. Juste was high scorer for Albertus with 35 points and 6 rebounds in the game played in the Cosgrove, Marcus, Messer Athletic Center.  He was named Tournament MVP.  Sophomore Ray Askew, who was named Conference Player of the Year on Friday, had 15 points and 15 rebounds.  Mitch Oliver, now in his third year as men's basketball coach at Albertus, has been named the GNAC Coach of the Year.

NCAA play for Albertus begins on Friday, March 5, with a game against William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, at 8:00 p.m.  Live stats during the game can be accessed athttp://www.sidearmstats.com/wpunj/mbball
