New Haven, Conn., September 4, 2024 – The National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Division III Presidents  Council elected Albertus Magnus College President Marc M. Camille, Ed.D., to serve as its Vice Chair. The one-year term  begins with the close of the 2025 NCAA Convention, January 14-17, in Nashville, Tenn.  

The Presidents Council is the highest governing body in NCAA Division III and includes among its responsibilities the  establishment and oversight of Division III policies, divisional strategic planning, sponsoring legislation, and advocacy to  the NCAA Board of Governors on behalf of D3. The 24-member body consists of 21 college presidents/chancellors and  two student-athletes, with representation divided geographically across the nation.  

Dr. Camille has been serving on the council, elected to a four-year term in 2023. Previously, he served on the NCAA  Division III Presidents Advisory Group.  

In serving as Vice Chair, Dr. Camille will continue working collaboratively with other Council members on behalf of the  nation’s more than 203,000 NCAA Division III student-athletes and will work with Presidents Council Chair, Juniata  College (PA) President. Dr. James Troha, in providing leadership for the Council. As Vice Chair, Dr. Camille will chair the  Division III Strategic Planning and Finance Committee and serve on the Division III Administrative Committee and on the  NCAA Board of Governors Finance and Audit Committee.

Dr. Camille took office as the 14th President of Albertus Magnus College in June 2017. As president, he has inspired  Albertus to launch an ambitious growth plan, deepen community engagement, and adopt a bold new strategic plan in  preparation for the College’s Centennial Celebration in 2025-26. Under his leadership, Albertus has become the most  diverse Catholic college in New England and its only Catholic college to achieve federal designation as a Hispanic Serving  Institution (HSI). In addition to the NCAA Division III Presidents Council duties, Dr. Camille is currently chairing the Great  Northeast Athletic Conference Presidents Council and the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Regional  Leadership Council, and he also has served in leadership Board roles for the National Association of Independent  Colleges and Universities (NAICU) and Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges (CCIC).
