Jeslyne had a difficult time deciding which college would be the best fit for her during high school, but the small campus at Albertus Magnus College was the convincing factor. “I visited and took a tour in the summer. I was actually going to go to another school, but the tour at Albertus changed my mind. I really liked the small environment and the campus and knew it was the place for me.”

Jeslyne knows she made the right decision to attend Albertus, “I have made a lot of friends here at Albertus. I thought it was going to be difficult to make friends and a lot of my high school classmates went to college together. I was the only one from my high school to attend Albertus. One of the first people I met on campus is now my roommate and we get along great!”

Not only was it easy for Jeslyne to fit in socially, she quickly developed strong connections with her professors. “The advisors are great and so supportive. It’s not like other schools where you need to make an appointment to meet with a professor. My professors know my name.”

When it comes to assignments, Jeslyne makes sure to turn in only her best work. “I use the Writing Center here on campus a lot. They go over your paper with you and let you know where there are mistakes and how to correct those mistakes. They do a lot of follow up to make sure that your writing continues to improve!”

On campus, there is never a dull moment for Jeslyne “In my free time I hang out with friends both on and off campus. What is great about Albertus is the location. There are plenty of places to go shopping or go get something to eat. We go into downtown to grab pizza and hang out often.”

There are plenty of events on campus to participate in as well. Jeslyne gets involved with clubs and student events. “While on campus I try to attend some of the events that are planned for students. We have a Science Club, which is a subject matter that really does interest me. I love the weekend events such as craft nights, movie nights, bingo, trivia, and comedians. These events are a lot of fun and it’s a great opportunity to hang out with my friends!”

With many social opportunities and academic challenges, Jeslyne makes the most out of her Albertus experience.
