Course: Speech Communications (CO-141-1) 

Speech Communications offers the student a comprehensive approach to the organization, presentation, and theory associated with the practice of oral communications.Through classroom exercises, formal student speech presentations, and videotape analysis,the student will advance hisher ability to speak publicly. Special attention will be given to the perceptual skills, listening skills, and leadership styles necessary for effective speaking in family, social, and business contexts. The emphasis is upon individual development. Thus, the student who experiences "speech anxiety" is likely to find Speech Communications a particularly rewarding experience. General Education Choice for Part A. Generally offered yearly. 3 credits
